Motorcycle rider killed in crash

A 72-year-old motorcyclist has died in a collision with a car in Kent.

The crash happened on Dymchurch Road in New Romney on Monday afternoon. The driver of a Honda 600 CBR motorcycle, a local man, died at the scene.

The driver of a Vauxhall Astra estate was not injured. The road was closed for seven hours.

Kent police said their serious crash investigation unit was dealing with the incident and had appealed for witnesses to come forward.
