Man gets life for stabbing murder

A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to life in prison after being found guilty of murdering a man who was stabbed to death during a disturbance in Kent.

Sean Maher, of Canterbury Road, Margate, was told he would serve a minimum of 14 years in prison when he appeared before Maidstone Crown Court.

He had pleaded not guilty to murdering 36-year-old Darren Turner, also from Margate, in March this year.

Mr Turner was knifed to death during the incident in Wilderness Hill.

He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate but pronounced dead soon after his arrival.
