Fresh appeal to find missing man

Richard's father, John Lambert, said the family were living from day-to-day

The father of a Medway man who has been missing for five months has made a fresh appeal in a bid to find his son.

Richard Lambert, 20, of Chatham, was last seen by his friends in the early hours of 13 June. He has had no contact with friends or family since then.

His father, John Lambert, said at times the family feared the worst, but were living day-to-day assuming he was out there somewhere.

Police said the missing man was not in trouble and urged him to get in touch.

Mr Lambert said: "We are taking the attitude that, if anything untoward had happened, we're assuming that he would have been found a long time ago."

'Girlfriend row'

Richard's best friend, Lawrence Beer, said he took a telephone call from the missing man in the early hours before he went missing.

He said Richard had spent a night out drinking and had a row with his girlfriend before he disappeared.

"[He said] that he was going away for a couple of days and sorry for ruining the night, sorry for ruining a birthday party, and that he'll be back in a few days, just to clear his head," Mr Beer added.

Det Insp Ann Lisseman said: "Richard, you're not in trouble, just contact me, you know, even if it's through a third party."

Police have said Richard's car was seen at Toddington Services on the M1 between Luton and Milton Keynes at 0450 BST on the morning he disappeared.

It was then seen on junction three of the M2 in Kent just before 0550 BST, and then in New Road, Rochester, just after 0600 BST.

Richard is described as white and 5ft 9ins with a stocky build, short light brown hair, and blue eyes.
