Dozens of motorcycles have formed the cortege for the funeral of a biker from Kent killed in an accident in the mountains of northern Italy last month.

Colin Morrish, 63, from Rochester, died along with his partner Wendy Pointer, 60, and Michael Vercoe, 66, of West Kingsdown, whose wife Fay was injured.

Members of Mr Morrish's bike club were in the procession from his motorbike shop to the church in Gillingham.

Motorcyclists from across Kent and Europe gathered to pay tribute to him.

"Anytime a biker dies there's a mark of respect... and he was a well-liked and a well-known man," said one biker, while another said the turn-out of so many people was a testament to him.

Mr Morrish had been on holiday in Italy when he died.

He and his partner, along with Mr and Mrs Vercoe, had been on two bikes which were in collision with a lorry in Mezzolombardo.

The accident happened near a new tunnel, which has a dual carriageway inside but switches to single lanes outside.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing.
