A 64-year-old man found dead at his home in Kent has been described as a caring, kind, loyal and trusted friend. A post-mortem examination revealed that John Joyce, who was a father-of-three, and grandfather-of four, and one of 10 siblings, died from stab wounds. His family said he had lived in Conyngham Close, Ramsgate, where his body was found on 8 July, since 1973. David Alberto, 31, of Albert Street, Ramsgate, has been charged with his murder and remanded in custody. He is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on 27 July. In a tribute, Mr Joyce's family said the retired electrician often helped his neighbours "using the skills he had spent his working life perfecting". He would also "happily potter in their gardens, turn his hand to painting and decorating when required and also take and collect friends' children from school". His sister Margaret, his daughters Sarah and Angela and his son Ian said: "It is a huge loss to us all. He had many people who cared deeply for him and he will be with us in our hearts forever."
