Taxi driver attacked by passenger

A taxi driver suffered a broken nose, two black eyes, and bruising to his face after a passenger attacked him.

Police said the driver picked up a man and a woman in Gravesend on Monday night and they asked to be taken to Paddock Wood.

After they arrived, the man got into the front of the car and demanded the car keys. When the driver refused, the man attacked him.

Officers are looking at CCTV and forensically examining the vehicle.

A spokesman for Kent Police said the pair were picked up from the Railway Tavern in Sole Street, Gravesend, and taken to Kent Close in Paddock Wood.

The attack happened between 2300 BST and 2330 BST.
