Army recruitment office unveiled

'I want to push myself to limit'

An army recruitment office has opened in Maidstone - for the first time in 10 years.

The Army Careers Information Office (ACIO) was needed to help address the shortage of soldiers and publicise new initiatives.

Recent figures indicate that the Army has a shortfall of 2,000 people nationally.

The previous office in the town was forced to close in 1999 due to budget constraints.
