Man charged with teenager murder

A 20-year-old man has been remanded in custody charged with the murder of a teenager who died after being found injured near public toilets in a park.

Rickie Mount, of Edward Vinson Drive in Faversham, Kent, appeared before magistrates in Sittingbourne charged with murdering 19-year-old Adam Beaney.

Mr Beaney, from Faversham, was found with a chest wound in the town's recreation ground on Saturday.

Mr Mount is next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 22 June.

A 20-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been freed without charge by Kent Police.

Two other women, aged 42 and 59, arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice have been bailed until Wednesday pending further inquiries.

Both are from the Faversham area.

Mr Beaney died after being taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
