James Taylor's body was discovered at the house in New Ash Green
The mother of an 11-year-old boy who was found drowned at his home in Kent wept in court as she pleaded not guilty to his murder.
Grammar school pupil James Taylor died at Knights Croft, New Ash Green, near Dartford, on 2 December.
During a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court, his mother, Jennifer Taylor, 45, denied murdering him.
Judge Jeremy Carey set a provisional trial date of 8 June and ordered her to be remanded in custody.
Kent Police said two post-mortem examinations revealed that James had died from drowning. Traces of drugs were also found in his body.
James was a pupil at Wilmington Grammar School for Boys in Common Lane, Wilmington, near Dartford, after transferring from Steephill School, a private primary in the nearby village of Fawkham.
