Road rage victim dragged into car

A man in a dressing gown was dragged in through the passenger window of a car which was then driven off.

Kent Police investigating the road rage attack in Millmead Road, Margate, said the victim clung to the side of the car as it reached speeds of up to 40mph.

He managed to let go of the door after hanging on for up to 50 yards, and suffered severe grazing.

The car involved in the incident on the evening of 21 December was a silver Vauxhall Vectra, police said.

'Nasty incident'

The vehicle had earlier been seen following a silver Vauxhall Corsa from the roundabout at Margate railway station towards the town.

Both vehicles stopped in Millmead Road between 1945 and 2000 GMT, when the father of one of the occupants of the Corsa came out of his house to challenge the driver of the Vectra.

Officers said he was then pulled through the open window of the car, before it drove off at speed.

In an appeal for the driver to come forward, Det Con Ray Butterwick described it as a "nasty incident".
