Bodies of two men found off coast

The bodies of two men who went missing while rowing out to a yacht moored off the Kent coast have been recovered.

Jamie Beecham, 32, and Bernie Faulkner, 55, were last seen travelling towards the vessel, moored off Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey, on Sunday night.

A search involving lifeboats and an RAF helicopter was called off on Monday afternoon, but resumed on Tuesday.

The families of both friends had expressed concern for their welfare because of the cold weather.

Mr Beecham and Mr Faulkner both came from Queenborough.

A Kent Police spokeswoman said: "At the moment this is being seen as a tragic accident and not being treated as suspicious.

"A post-mortem and inquest will be carried out in due course."
