A 70-year-old pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run incident on the A20 in Kent, police have said.
The collision happened near the railway bridge at Harrietsham on Thursday.
Officers said the elderly woman was using a pedestrian crossing near the bridge when she was struck by a vehicle between 0800 and 0900 BST.
A spokeswoman for the force confirmed that the collision was "being treated as a hit-and-run". Anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact police.
The spokeswoman said police wanted to find two potential witnesses who were believed to have been in the area at the time.
One was the driver of a Landrover Discovery, and the other was a woman dressed in pink who was pushing a child's buggy.
The road between Harrietsham and Lenham was closed while police carried out investigations, but was later re-opened.
