An 11-year-old girl has been airlifted to hospital in London after being hit by a car in Kent.
The child, who was a pedestrian, was involved in the crash in Nackington Road, Canterbury, on Monday afternoon.
Police said the girl, from Dover, was in a stable condition in the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel.
The incident is being investigated by the serious collision unit. The driver of the car was uninjured, a spokeswoman for the force said.
She said the Kent Air Ambulance landed in a field next to the road after the collision at about 1600 BST.
The road remained closed until 1945 BST while investigations were carried out. The force has appealed for witnesses.
