Seventeen held at car boot sale

Eight thousand counterfeit DVDs were seized and 17 Chinese nationals arrested after police swooped on a car boot sale in Kent.

Police said nearly 40 officers were involved in the operation in Pedham, Swanley, on Sunday.

The seven women and 10 men were arrested on suspicion of immigration offences and selling counterfeit goods.

Fourteen were bailed and proceedings are under way to remove them from the UK. Three remain in custody.

Officers from the UK Border Agency, Kent Police, Kent Trading Standards and FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft) were involved in the operation to tackle counterfeit DVDs and illegal immigration.
