Child killed in digger accident

A six-year-old boy has been killed in Kent in an incident involving a digger at his family's farm.

Police attended the scene at High Halstow near Rochester at 1830 BST on Wednesday, and confirmed that the boy died in hospital from his injuries.

Councillor Phil Filmer, who lives near to the scene, said the community had been left "badly shaken" by the death.

"I didn't like to ask the exact nature of what happened. I just know it involved a digger," he said.

"I spoke to the grandad about it yesterday and he was obviously very upset.

"It's very sad, you can't really put into words what the family must be going through."
