A man has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a woman who was pushed off a station platform on to a railway track in Kent.

British Transport Police charged 30-year-old Ionel Rapisca from Dartford in relation to an incident at Farningham Road railway station on 6 August.

Linda Buchanan, 58, was attacked after telling two men to stop smoking.

Mr Rapisca was granted conditional bail until a court appearance before Dartford Magistrates on 10 September.

The bail conditions include that he is not permitted to enter Farningham Road station, he is not permitted to travel on trains to London Victoria and he is not permitted to make contact with any prosecution witness, a police spokesperson said.

He arrested and bailed five days after the incident, and was re-interviewed by police on Saturday.

After taking CPS advice, police are taking no further action against an 18-year-old who was also arrested in connection with the attack.

Ms Buchanan suffered a broken wrist in the incident.
