Girl, 6, badly hurt by family dog

Police said they were continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding a dog attack which left a six-year-old girl was badly injured.

The youngster received severe injuries to her neck and her mother was also hurt during the incident at their home in Folkestone, Kent, on Monday.

Police said the pair were being moved from the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford to London for surgery.

The family's Staffordshire bull terrier was destroyed on Friday.
