Man hurt by roof blaze at house

A man has been treated in hospital following a house fire in Ramsgate.

Firefighters were called to the two-storey property in West Dumpton Lane at about 1350 BST on Saturday.

The man was given oxygen at the scene and taken for treatment for smoke inhalation to the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze destroyed part of the property's roof. The cause of the fire is not being treated as suspicious.
