Houseboat where the body was found
Mr Castle, 61, was found dead on his boat

A 54-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to murdering a man discovered stabbed to death on his houseboat.

Kenneth Harman, formerly of Cannon Bridge, Tonbridge, denied murder when he appeared at Maidstone Crown Court via video link from Elmley Prison.

The body of Michael Castle, 61, was found inside his boat, the Impulse, on the River Medway near Cannon Bridge at Tonbridge, Kent, in February.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of a stabbing.

Mr Harman was remanded in custody to stand trial on 1 December.
