Man suffers head injury in fight

A 55-year-old man suffered serious head injuries during a fight outside a pizza takeaway in a Kent town centre.

Kent Police cordoned off the area around New Road, Gravesend, after the incident which took place at about 2330 on Saturday.

The local man was taken to Darent Valley Hospital then transferred to Kings College Hospital, London.

A spokesman for Kent Police said he was not certain when the roads would be reopened to the public.

Officers have asked anyone with information about the incident to contact Kent Police.
