Teenager in court over drugs haul

A 19-year-old woman from Germany has been charged with attempting to smuggle 500,000 worth of cocaine into the UK.

Jasmin Bollinger, of Freiburg, was arrested after about 11kg of the Class A drug was allegedly found in her car at the Port of Ramsgate ferry terminal.

The haul was discovered by officers from the UK Border Agency (UKBA) in the rear quarter panels of a vehicle.

The teenager, who arrived on a ferry from Ostend, in Belgium, was remanded in custody by Dover magistrates.

She is next due to appear in court on 8 May.
