Former teacher faces vice charge
A former PE teacher and his wife have been charged with controlling prostitution for gain.

Tim Blake-Bowell, 46, and Emma Blake-Bowell, 35, of Canterbury, Kent, were arrested as part of a wider police investigation into the sex trade.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between 31 October and 14 December 2007.

The couple, who are on police bail, are due to appear at Canterbury Magistrates' Court on 26 March.

Mr Blake-Bowell was formerly a teacher at King Ethelbert School, a mixed comprehensive in Birchington, near Margate.

Four women taken into specialist police care as part of Operation Vermont could face deportation if it is proved they entered the UK illegally.

One woman, Yoke Chan Li, was charged with conspiracy to control the activity of prostitutes for gain between October 19 and December 14 2007.

The 56-year-old, of Ramsgate, will appear at Canterbury Magistrates' Court on 1 May.
