David O'Leary was shot after arriving home with his girlfriend
Detectives hunting the killer of a man who died from gun shot wounds on his driveway have revealed that a suspect was seen running away from the scene.

David O'Leary, 31, was found with fatal injuries in Valley Road, Lydden, Margate, early on Saturday.

Kent Police said he was shot after returning home from a night out and that it was not a random killing.

The suspect was about 5ft 6ins to 5ft 8ins tall with dark clothing and either very dark hair or a black bobble hat.

He reportedly ran away from the scene very quickly at 0245 GMT.

'Terrible shock'

Detectives said Mr O'Leary, who was known to them, was shot after arriving home with his partner, Emma Terry.

She has said his death was a "terrible shock" and her family and friends were still coming to terms with what had happened.

"Dave and I were together for ten-and-a-half-years and we have three young children together.

"He is loved and will be greatly missed by me and his children, and many others who knew him," she said.

Anyone with any information about the incident is asked to call police.
