Grandson charged with stab murder

A 24-year-old man has been charged with murdering his 62-year-old grandmother whose body was found at her home in Kent on Christmas Day.

Maxwell Twyman, of Conyngham Close, Ramsgate, is charged with murdering Valerie Twyman, who also lived in Conyngham Close.

A post-mortem examination carried out on Boxing Day found Ms Twyman died from stab wounds to the chest and abdomen.

Mr Twyman was remanded in custody by magistrates in Dover on Thursday.

He is next due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on 11 January.
