Sea Scout fleet sails into Kent
Ramsgate Harbour
The fleet will arrive in Ramsgate before making its way to London
An armada will be sailing into Kent as Sea Scouts from Europe head for the 21st World Scout Jamboree in London.

A total of 35 yachts and sea training vessels with 300 crew from France, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Poland and Norway are involved in Armada 2007.

The fleet will sail from Ostend to Ramsgate Royal Harbour on Wednesday before heading to the jamboree which will help mark 100 years of Scouting.

The journey has been organised by the Belgian Sea Scouts.

Councillor Roger Latchford, from Thanet District Council, said: "The fact that Ramsgate has been chosen to welcome them to the UK just goes to show that Thanet really is the gateway to Europe."
