People from lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender groups have been taking part in Thanet's first Gay Pride festival on the seafront at Margate.
The free event, celebrating diversity in the community, featured a wide variety of music and entertainment, and stalls manned by local businesses.
Officials billed it as an opportunity for Thanet to show it is a vibrant, diverse and tolerant place.
Paul Rollins, one of the organisers, said it had received "massive support".
"We've had no opposition. Obviously there are some people that have some issues about Pride but certainly nothing that has worried us."
