Sinatra vehicle goes for a song
Chrysler station wagon
Frank Sinatra owned the car between 1985 and 1991
A station wagon that Frank Sinatra bought so he could drive anonymously around Hollywood has sold for £5,700.

A Manchester dealer purchased the wood panel-effect Chrysler estate car, owned by the star between 1985 and 1991, at Brands Hatch racing circuit in Kent.

It was the last vehicle that Sinatra drove before he got a chauffeur, according to the auctioneers COYS.

A spokesman for the firm said: "It was a car that he could drive in without being recognised."

Buyer Ian Grange, 66, who runs a classic car showroom in Manchester, said he was "very happy with it".
