Homes lost power after a fault on an underground cable

A power failure has caused major disruption to hundreds of homes and businesses in a Kent town.
About 2,000 properties in Dover lost power at 1230 BST because of a fault on an underground cable.
EDF Energy said engineers restored supplies to half the homes 30 minutes later. By the evening all but 200 homes were reconnected.
The power cut also hit traffic lights causing major congestion on the town centre's roads.
A spokeswoman for EDF said: "Energy Networks engineers are on site.
"They are continuing to work to restore the remaining supplies as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused by this incident."
