Baby ill after 'swallowing drug'

A seven-month-old baby is in a stable condition in hospital after reportedly swallowing an ecstasy tablet.

The girl was taken to Darent Valley Hospital, in Dartford, after ambulance crews were called to a car in Gravesend High Street on Monday night.

She was moved to a specialist unit at St Thomas's Hospital in London, before being transferred back to Dartford.

Kent Police said an 18-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs.

The baby was in a critical condition when she was taken to the London hospital, but her condition stabilised on Tuesday.
