Cats and horse shot with air gun
A spate of air rifle attacks on animals in Kent are being investigated by police and RSPCA inspectors.

In separate attacks, three cats were shot in Ramsgate, while a horse was fired at near Maidstone.

Two of the cats were found shot in Manston Road last week and another was shot just days later. They all survived despite pellets lodged in their bodies.

The horse suffered shoulder and stomach wounds after being shot at a secluded paddock on Bluebell Hill.

Its owner had returned from holiday on Monday to discover the injuries to the animal, which was being cared for by a neighbour.

Pellets were found in the neck, side and back of the cats, who all belong to the same family.

The RSPCA is investigating the incidents and has vowed to prosecute those responsible.
