People prepare for climate change
Residents in east Kent are to learn how to minimise their impact on the environment at a meeting with Kent County Council.

The Thanet Local Board, which organises discussions on key issues in the area, will also talk about solutions to drought and protecting the shoreline.

The board's chairman, Bill Hayton, said: "The climate will have a serious impact in coastal areas like Thanet."

The meeting is part of a county-wide investigation into climate change.

Questions raised

My Hayton added: "Everyone has a duty and a responsibility to do everything they can to protect where they live for future generations.

"Attending this meeting would be a great first step towards making a real difference."

The benefits of using de-salination to increase water resources and how to safeguard the district's shoreline will also be highlighted.

The meeting is being held at the King Ethelbert School in Birchington on Tuesday evening.
