Five people have been arrested following separate raids on a cannabis farm near Faversham and a house on the Isle of Sheppey.

The Faversham raid led to the arrest of two men aged 29 and 31 and a woman aged 34. A 35-year-old woman and a boy, 16, were arrested in the house raid.

All are being held on suspicion of producing cannabis. Around 400 plants worth £50,000 were found at the farm.

The operation was a result of several weeks of work, police said.

Officers are chasing a sixth person following the Faversham raid after they made a getaway in a car.

The plants were found in various stages of growth in a field next to the isolated property.

In two other raids at Pembury near Tunbridge Wells, two men were arrested for cultivating cannabis after around 200 plants were found as well as hydroponic growing equipment.
