Man, 21, accused of double murder

A 21-year-old man charged with the murder of an elderly couple in Faversham, Kent, has appeared in court.

Brett Clifton, of Beckett Street, in Faversham, is accused of murdering Terry Martin, 72, and his wife Vera, 78, at their home.

They were found last Wednesday with multiple injuries. Four other people arrested have been released on bail.

Mr Clifton made no bail application at Sittingbourne Magistrates' Court and was remanded in custody.

He is due to reappear at Maidstone Crown Court on 13 February.
