Man detained in pensioner killing
A 42-year-old man has been detained under the Mental Health Act for stabbing to death a fellow resident at a housing centre for vulnerable people.

Maidstone Crown Court was told that victim Derek Saxby, 67, was found with multiple wounds at the centre in London Street, Folkestone in November 2004.

Robert White admitted manslaughter on grounds of diminished responsibility.

Jonathan Higgs, prosecuting, said White stabbed Mr Saxby in his room with a 12ins knife he took from the kitchen.
