Securicor van robbed at gunpoint
Two men armed with a sawn-off shotgun have held up a Securicor van delivering money to a building society.

Kent Police said the van's crew were robbed by the men after a struggle outside the Nationwide branch in Gillingham early on Friday morning.

One of the men involved in the robbery in Watling Street had a gun, but police said no shots were fired and the guards were shocked but uninjured.

The robbers made off in a black BMW with a "substantial" sum of money.

Police said the men were wearing balaclavas and dark clothing.

There was a third man in the 3 Series BMW, which is believed to be about three years old.

Officers said they drove off at high speed along Hoath Way towards the M2 from Gillingham.

Armed police were sent to the area but no trace of the offenders was found.

Kent Police want anyone with information about the robbery or who saw the BMW being driven in the area to contact them or Crimestoppers.
