Viz duo take on 'disgusted' town
Viz founders
Alex Collier and Simon Donald prepare in Tunbridge Wells
The creators of Viz are appearing in Tunbridge Wells to tell fans about the bawdy magazine they began 26 years ago.

But the men who dreamed up Biffa Bacon and Roger Mellie the Man on the Telly are not worried about causing possible offence in Kent's historic spa town.

"I'm hoping that disgusted of Tunbridge Wells is going to be disgusted and the rest of Tunbridge Wells is going to be most entertained," said Simon Donald.

Mr Donald and ex-editor Alex Collier are at Trinity Theatre on Saturday.

Mr Logic

The pair helped found Viz in Newcastle in 1979.

Characters were based on real people - among them Mr Collier's sister and Mr Donald's older brother Steve, the inspiration for Mr Logic.

"My first character was based on girls I knew at school called Tasha Slappers," said Mr Collier.

"This is something you get all round the country - in Chatham you call them Chavs."
