Operation Stack has been brought in several times in 2005

An operation which sees the M20 motorway in Kent turned into a lorry park has been implemented again due to cross-Channel ferry chaos.
Kent Police implemented the operation, closing the road between junctions 11 and 12 southbound, after a backlog of freight heading to the Channel Tunnel.
The lorries were diverting there as the Port of Dover filled up due to on-going berthing problems in Calais.
Several berths are still closed after a walkway collapsed last month.
Since January this year, Kent Police has had to implement Operation Stack several times because of backlogs of freight traffic attempting to cross the Channel.
