A South African man has been charged with endangering life and being a public nuisance after claiming he walked through the Channel Tunnel.
Kent Police said they arrested the man after he was handed over by French officers, who picked him up in France on Sunday morning near the entrance.
A Eurotunnel spokesman said it was only the second time someone was thought to have walked the 50km (30 mile) tunnel.
She added that a thorough search took place to ensure the tunnel was safe.
