Runaway horse is killed by lorry
A runaway horse was killed and another was injured when they were hit by an articulated lorry and a car in Kent.

The animals were loose on the A2 London-bound carriageway near Wincheap in the early hours of Friday after escaping from a nearby field.

The lorry driver was unhurt but his windscreen was shattered in the accident, which closed the road and brought traffic to a standstill.

Kent Police said a vet was called to the scene to treat the surviving horse.

Two women in the car were taken to the William Harvey Hospital at Ashford with minor injuries.
