Orange lorry crash shuts motorway
The crash on the M20
The lorry blocked three lanes of the London-bound carriageway
Four lanes of a Kent motorway were closed after a lorry laden with oranges crashed with a van on Wednesday.

The Mercedes articulated lorry ended up lying on its side across three lanes of the London-bound carriageway of the M20 after the crash at midday.

The driver of the lorry was flown to hospital by Kent Air Ambulance and the van driver was treated for shock.

It happened between junctions three for Snodland and four for the M26. It took twelve hours to reopen the motorway.

Kent Police said the lorry driver's condition was not believed to be life threatening.

The Highways Agency were at the scene trying to clear the carriageway.

The road was expected to reopen late on Wednesday night, police said.
