Stone murder appeal for January
Michael Stone in 2001
Stone is serving three life sentences for the attacks
An appeal by the man seeking to overturn his conviction for the murders of a mother and her daughter has been set for January.

Michael Stone, 42, was jailed in 2001 for killing Lin Russell and her six-year-old daughter Megan.

The Court of Appeal will now hear the case on 17 January.

He will also challenge his conviction for the attempted murder of Josie Russell, who was nine when the family were attacked in Kent in July 1996.

Stone was given three life sentences three years ago.

He was given permission to appeal the decision earlier this year.
