Chance to win house for a fiver
The house
Angela Brown is selling the house to move to France
A woman from Kent has decided to raffle her £250,000 house instead of selling it the conventional way.

Angela Brown needs at least 50,000 people to buy a ticket to meet the reserve price on her turn-of-the-century oast house in Canterbury.

Tickets cost £5 each and if the reserve price is not met the winner will get all the money collected minus 10%.

To meet licensing laws, entrants have to answer a multiple choice question before being entered into the draw.

'Sales fall through'

Mrs Brown is trying to sell her house because she is moving to France.

She said: "We wanted to move quickly as we are buying a house in France and we have a deadline to meet there.

"This way we can sort of control the deadline as well.

"Doing it the conventional way so many property sales fall through.

"If we do not meet the reserve that is on the property then the winner will get the cash that has been accumulated up to the closing date."

The closing date is 14 August when a ticket will be drawn.

A website has been set up so people can enter the draw.
