A four-car pile-up on the M25 in Kent has brought a section of the motorway to a standstill.
The crash, on the clockwise carriageway between Junctions two and three, happened at about 7am on Monday.
One man had to be cut free from the wreckage and has been taken to hospital with suspected spinal injuries.
Kent Police said it was thought nobody else had been seriously hurt in the crash but it has caused lengthy delays for commuters on the motorway.
They said the road was still gridlocked around junction two, where the A2 meets the M25, at about 1100 BST.
