Leisure flights begin at airport
Manston Airport
Kent County is investing money in the new services
Passenger flights from Manston Airport in Kent are starting on Wednesday.

Flights run by Irish airline EU jet to Amsterdam, Gerona, Copenhagen, Dublin and Nice are beginning, with destinations set to increase this year.

A spokesman said it was hoped that the airline would carry 500,000 passengers in its first year.

Kent County Council has invested in the scheme to help regenerate the Thanet area - business destinations include Manchester and Edinburgh.

Plans to fly to 21 destinations from Manston Airport were announced by the budget airline operator in May.
