The attack happened near the police station in Gravesend, Kent, while the man stood with a friend preparing to head for Dartford.

They told police two men walked past the bus stop, hit the man on the head and then kicked him in the head after he fell to the ground.

Police want to hear from anyone who saw the attack on Thursday evening.

Shouted abuse

The victim and his friend were waiting for a bus by the police station in Rathmore Road between 2000 and 2030 BST on Thursday when the attack happened.

After the man was knocked to the ground and kicked, the offenders shouted abuse at him and then ran off in the direction of Pelham Road, police said on Tuesday.

The offenders are described as white men, both about 5ft 10ins tall.

One was wearing a blue shirt and blue jeans and the second was in a baggy pink shirt.

Police want to hear from anyone with information about the assault.
