The port was closed to traffic
The port at Dover was closed for several hours
Three men have appeared in court charged with possessing prohibited weapons and ammunition after a security alert at Dover.

The three 23-year-olds, all from London, were granted conditional bail at the hearing at Folkestone Magistrates Court on Monday.

Dover's port was closed to traffic for seven hours on Friday evening after weapons were allegedly found in a car arriving on a ferry from Calais.

Three men were arrested by Kent Police and questioned over the weekend before being charged on Sunday.

Those appearing in court on Monday were: Amir Khan, a county court bailiff from Kensington; Ramin Malique, a garage manager from Clapham; Zubiar Khan, from west London.

The case was adjourned until 10 September when the three are all due again before Folkestone magistrates.
