Hull man and woman killed in East Yorkshire car crash

Two people have died in a car crash in East Yorkshire.

Rebecca Robinson, 20, and Liam Normington, 22, who are both from the Hull area, died when their Citroen was in collision with a VW on the A1079.

Police said the Citroen crashed down an embankment and ended up on its roof. The man driving the Volkswagen was uninjured.

The accident happened near Arras Hill at 1420 GMT on Sunday. Part of the road was closed for six hours.

Humberside Police said it could not say yet whether the wintry weather conditions had been a factor.

Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to contact the force's roads policing department.
