Man held over father-of-two death

A man has been remanded in custody charged with the manslaughter of a father-of-two who was attacked in Hull.

Stephen Foster, 53, died of head injuries in hospital after he was assaulted on Malton Street, Witham, on Friday night.

Stephen Paul Arnell, 48, from Hull, appeared before the city's magistrates where he was remanded to appear at the crown court on 23 November.

A 33-year-old Hull man has been bailed while inquiries continue.

Humberside Police said it was believed Mr Foster had been drinking with friends in the Witham area.

The attack happened near the Plimsoll Ship Inn pub.
