New health centre opens in town

A £14m centre offering people in Grimsby improved access to a wide range of health services has been opened.

Three GP practices have relocated to the Freshney Green Primary Care Centre.

Minor surgery will also be carried out at the centre on Sorrel Road as well as providing dental services, a pharmacy and health and social care services.

Jane Lewington, from North East Lincolnshire NHS Trust, said: "The centre offers a greater number of services under one roof."

The facility has been developed by health provider organisation Assura.

Amanda Horley, regional development manager at Assura, said: "It will make a significant contribution to improving healthcare facilities locally, as well as being an important part of the overall regeneration of the area."
