Food firm closure costs 180 jobs

A food manufacturer has announced the closure of its Grimsby factory with the loss of 180 jobs.

Kwoks, which makes Oriental ready meals, confirmed it had shut its site at the town's Europarc business park with immediate effect.

Businessmen Paul Kwok and Wayne Rowlatt opened the factory in January 2000, then employing just 20 people.

The company said it had taken the decision for financial reasons, having made losses for the past three years.
